With a scheduled release date of April 3, "Doom 3" (Activision/id Sofware) is expected to be another one of this years biggest game releases. From what I've seen thus far, the graphics look incredibly realistic, and the artistry is excellent. Here is some more info on Doom 3 along with a couple of links for further reference: Science has unlocked the gates to the unknown. A sci-fi horror masterpiece, DOOM 3™ is like nothing you’ve ever experienced. Dramatic storyline, pulse-pounding action, incredible graphics, and revolutionary technology combine to draw you into the most frightening and gripping first-person gaming experience ever created. I've played Doom 3 on the PC and the thing it lacks is cooperative multiplayer mode. Unlike many games where deathmatch, CTF, etc. are the way to play in multiplayer mode Doom would definitely be better played coop. I just hope that the XBOX version allows you to carry the flashlight and a gun at the same time. The Master Cheif can handle both in Halo 2 so you'd think the space marines could do it in Doom. It sucks when you are shooting in the dark because you can't have both up and it would really suck if one guy had to be the flashlight guy for the party.

Whenever I've played DOOM in the past, the entire game seems incredibly "dark", not just in the sense of the game, but physically, I have to turn up the brightness on my screen to play it.
The idea of having a flashlight would be nice, especially if you're not having to toggle between the two as your looking for and firing upon a potential enemy.
Talk about friendly fire kills, start shooting in the dark and you're sure to kill your counterparts.

I played the demo and honestly I think the developers got lazy!
Yes the blood and guts do splatter and the bad guys are authentic! BUT that's were it stops. Before you find yourself running for cover.. Take a look at the walls...
It is flat as a peice of paper. The images look like wall paper.
It reminds me of the game when it first came out a generation ago. Which was cool then.. But come on, we are not dealing with 8meg video cards any more...
$49 well considering you can buy Ghost Recon II or Halo II for the same amount and the graphics are so much better. With that in mind I would say the game is NOT worth more then $20!!
Yes kids will buy it because of the idea behind it, but from a tehcnical point, those that enjoy REAL games will abandon ship here.
