TOCA 2: Race Driver has got to be one of my favorite racing simulations. I have played off-road racers, on road racers, truck racers and classic auto racers but no one game compares to TOCA 2. My first experience with it was on the PC but now that I am a dedicated XBOX player I traded in my PC version for the XBOX version. It's almost identical (save for the hints relating to the XBOX controller). I would definitely like to have a game night soon when we can all do some racing!

I just checked out www.codemasters.com and they have posted information about TOCA Race Driver 2006, the much anticipated update to TOCA 2. It isn't available yet but here's whaty they have to say about it: ToCA Race Driver 2006 is the latest edition of the long-running series that's famous for providing the most exciting wheel-to-wheel racing action on console and PC.
ToCA Race Driver 2006 takes the variety of motorsport experiences available in Race Driver 2 and expanding on it even further, so no matter what your taste in racing, you'll find something to suit you.
Featuring the British GT championship, series stalwarts the DTM and Aussie V8 Supercars, Sprint Cars, Rallying, and open wheel racing all the way from karts to the BMW Williams Grand Prix Cars, and much more ToCA Race Driver 2006 has something for everyone.
Race on tracks from all over the world, take the story-driven "world tour" mode if you want to get straight to where the action is, or for the people wanting the nuts and bolts, take the "Pro Career" mode and work you way up the ladder in different disciplines of motorsport, aiming for the pinnacle of your chosen field.Gamespot has a Q&A with the developer at: www.gamespot.com/xbox/driving/tocaracedriver3/preview_6120536.html

Buddah just picked up a copy of TOCA2 and said it is awesome, and not easy, which apparently makes the game even better (in his eyes) I'm bidding on one on eBay right now, so we'll see what happens..... JD ;D

I just posted a couple of new Game Nights and the one on April 15th is dedicated to TOCA 2. I know people would probably like to get rid of their TAX stress by playing HALO 2 but a couple of good wins on the track can be equally as satisfying. There's just nothing like racing 200+ mph down the straightaway at Texas Motor Speedway in a Ford F-150 supertruck!

[glow=Green,2,300]GREAT GAME !!! [/glow] This is great. I love the fact that you actually have to drive the car!!!! Unlike NASCAR 2005 Chase for the Cup as to where you have to drive just the track! Now for the bad news...... Im working the 15th Dave

If you guys would prefer moving the TOCA 2 prime time it's certainly open for discussion. I know there has been talk about a Mech Assault 2 or Ghost Recon 2 Prime time so we could mix things up a bit.
Do either of you guys have steering wheels? I am considering one but I don't know what's out there.

I know what you mean. Although I really like to read user reviews. Sometimes a wheel seems nice in the store but after you get it home and use it for a while you find out that it isn't all it's cracked up to be. I think I'm going to have to check out Tomshardware.com and some of the other test/review sites to see what people have to say. I will let you know if I find something I think will be useful.
